As part of Catholic Schools Week 2021 our Director of Admissions and Marketing, Molly Wilkins, spoke with Weston Stroud. Please listen to that interview here.

Mr. Stroud graduated from St. Peter Claver in 2006 before moving on to Mount de Sales Academy and from there the to State University of New York College where he studied Environmental Science and Forestry. Stroud works as a Transit Planner for the Macon-Bibb County Government and is also a member of the 2020 Emerging City Champions for his idea to revitalize Roxy Park.

From the Emerging City Champions website:

“My project will revitalize an area around what used to be one of Macon’s three black theatres called the Roxy Theatre, through tactical urbanism, place making, and intentional programming. The end goal of this project is to create a food park for food trucks as well as meet the needs of the current surrounding businesses and institutions. There is presently no designated area in Macon to host food trucks without paying exorbitant prices for a permit. This hurdle stifles small businesses. Creating a pedestrian plaza that hosts food trucks will provide new opportunities and activate an historic community downtown.
